Anyone who knows anyone creative will know that if a creative person can’t create they go slightly bonkers!!
With nearly all weddings on hold and receptions most definitely on hold some of my most fabulous creatives I often have here at Berkeley Castle have been uncomfortably sitting on their hands. So, to embrace our talents in these very testing times we got together to create an utterly luxurious and opulent styled shoot down by the historic lily pond (built for the 8th Earl of Berkeley back in the late 1800’s).
The weather couldn’t have been more idyllic, and it felt more like we were in the Mediterranean than in rural Gloucestershire.
Maria and Lauren from Sorori Design Events worked their magic by creating an opulent intimate wedding breakfast for 6 using all seasonal British flowers in pale pinks and Ivory, including Dahlias, Garden Roses & Hydrangea. There were also Pampas Grasses to add a bit more drama! The flowers tumbling from the table down the stone steps gave an opulent lux look but with a soft inviting feel … very continental!
Crockery & glassware was provided by Whitehouse Crockery which helped set the look off beautifully. We used Scarlett Gold Charger Plates with co-ordinating gold crockery in Orla and exquisite glassware in Cara.
Linen was provided by 88Events. Their “Gelato” range is perfect for that luxury look! There are so many colours to choose from but for this styled shoot we used “Crema”.
Walt Disney once said “It seems to me that we have a lot of story yet to tell” and I can think of nothing more apt not only for the times we are currently living in but also for every couple who are about to embark on married life! This is the start of a new journey and one that will be filled with so many stories, its exciting to be a part of the very beginning. Laura from Urban Frame Studios created this beautiful mirrored sign for us to use.
I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this project and the pictures by Adam Drake Photography show just how gorgeous an intimate outdoor celebration can be. The wall to wall sunshine was a huge bonus, if only we could have this guaranteed!!
