We love winter weddings at the Castle and are offering, for a limited time only, midweek weddings (Tuesday-Thursday) in November 2025!
With summer fast approaching you might be picturing sunny skies and blooming flowers, but there’s something equally enchanting about a winter wedding. With crisp air, cosy vibes, and festive spirit, a winter wedding can be an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re dreaming of a snow-covered landscape or a warm indoor celebration, winter offers an incredible backdrop for your special day.
Winter weddings are filled with charm, magic, and undeniable beauty. With the season’s cosy ambiance, stunning backdrops, and unique opportunities for decor, attire, and food, it’s no wonder so many are opting for this enchanting time of year to say “I do.” Whether you dream of snowflakes or twinkling lights, a winter wedding is a chance to create an unforgettable day surrounded by love, warmth, and joy.
Here are a few reasons why a winter wedding might just be the perfect choice for you.
- Cosy and Intimate Atmosphere
Winter weddings often feel more intimate, with guests huddled close together to enjoy the warmth and cosiness of the season. There’s something special about the way the cold outside contrasts with the warmth inside with our fires in the Great Hall and Long Drawing Room, creating a snug, welcoming atmosphere.
- Festive Touches and Decorations
Winter offers endless opportunities for creative and festive wedding decorations. Think of soft white lights, frosted greenery, and elegant centrepieces featuring pinecones, cranberries, and holly. You can even incorporate traditional holiday elements like gold accents, metallic tones, or a beautiful winter-themed cake. Whether you’re planning a full-on Christmas-inspired wedding or just taking inspiration from the season, the decor options are limitless!
- Hot Chocolate and Seasonal Treats
Winter weddings are a perfect time to incorporate festive flavours and cosy treats into your celebration. Serve guests hot chocolate, mulled wine, or warm apple cider as a welcome drink. For dessert, consider seasonal cakes or pies, such as spiced carrot cake, apple pie, or even a decadent chocolate fondue station. These comforting options create a warm, inviting feeling and keep the chilly air at bay. Speak with our catering team to find out more!
