2018 Events

Details of FoBC Events during 2018 were published in the February 2018 edition of the Friends' magazine The Berkeley Buttress

which included an Events order form.  Further copies of the Events order form are available via the link above.


Visit to the University of Bristol Archaeological Dig in the Castle paddock,

followed by tea and an exhibition of archaeological finds in the Castle.

Thursday 31 May: 2.15pm in the Castle Visitors' Car Park.

Tickets £4 (£6 non-members).  Practical footwear please.


Concert by  the Amici A-Capella group.

Sunday 10 June: 7.30pm.

Tickets £15 (£18 non-members) including a pre-concert drink.


Visit to the 18th century Folly and the Whitcliff Deer Park, led by Roly Brown, Estates Director.

Thursday 12 July:  meet at 5pm in the Estate Yard, Ham.

Tickets £5 (£7 non-members).  Practical footwear please.


FoBC Annual Summer Party.

Sunday 19th August:  5.45pm for 6pm in the Castle gardens (indoors if wet)

Tickets £14 (£16 for FoBC guests).


Friends-only visit to Worcester College, Oxford

Thursday 6th September, 2pm. 

A private tour of the College and Gardens, led by former Bursar, Andrew Jardine.

Tickets £25 including refreshments.  FoBC members only.  Limited numbers.

Thursday 18th October:  7pm for 7.30pm in the Great Hall, Berkeley Castle.

Tickets £9 (£12 non-members).


Antiques Afternoon with auctioneer Philip Taubenheim

Sunday 18th November:  2pm for 2.30pm in the Great Hall, Berkeley Castle.

Tickets £15 (£18 non-members) including Afternoon Tea in the Long Drawing Room.

Talk by the Keeper of the Fabric at Bristol Cathedral, John Cannon

Sunday 9th December:  2pm for 2.30pm in the Great Hall, Berkeley Castle.

Hear about the builder of the Castle's historic links to what is now the Cathedral.
